I'm trying to bake fresh bread today - the no-knead kind, which you leave to rise for hours then cook in a closed cast-iron pot in the oven. I've made the dough, let it rise, and baked it, and it smells right, but I'm not sure how it turned out. Must resist cutting it open until it has properly cooled! It's even worse than waiting for it to rise! But I am happy to report it turned out crunchy and delicious. Mmm, fresh bread.

My dad and I could never wait for the bread to cool completely when my mom baked. We were too busy fighting over who got to cut off the hot ends and smother them with butter! LOL

Argh it was so difficult to wait but I held out! And then ate the delicious crunchy end, om nom nom.
