Once a year you get to spend a day in both anticipation (from knowing that people tend to be particularly nice and you can probably get away with anything), and mild trepidation (from knowing that other people can also probably get away with anything, as long as it's in the name of 'fun' haha).
I mean, you do look forward to it, but ultimately, if nothing unexpected happens (touch wood!!), you know that there's going to be another one next year, and the next, and the next.. so it's nice, but not that THE-WORLD-IS-COMING-TO-A-STOP-WHOA!!! kind of thing.
Which makes it kind of nice and warm and >< when people appear unexpectedly, or do unexpected things. Especially because, for a while, its been as though everything (everyone?) is just drifting apart, and somehow you don't get to see the people you want to, hold on the way you wanted to, go about things the way you wanted to. And at a time when everything's cooling down, getting into busystudymode.. mm yeah.
So really, thank you.
