I already have your Christmas gift. Sadly, it is not on your list. Happily, it is something you could (and I suspect would) buy with something on your list. So maybe it will all work out! :) I don't have your b-day gift yet, though, so I will take these lists to heart.

I got dad's stuff at the same time I was getting yours and before I got mom's email about just not doing gifts this year unless percap is huge. So, you're getting yours, and I'm still doing something for Mom. I'm at a loss on her, though, because I know she doesn't read the books or watch the things I've gotten her in the past. What I would really like to do is try to get some of the stuff she's pawned out of hock, but I don't know how, where, or even if that's possible (let alone what it would cost). Any thoughts on the best way to do that?

I've been looking forward to the 20th anniversary edition of Timothy Zahn's Heir to the Empire since I heard about it. There are a lot of Star Wars books I'd be perfectly happy to e-book someday, or even just get from the library, but this is one of my favorite trilogies, and the anniversary edition has annotations and whatnot, so I think I must have it. I hope they do special releases for the other two in the series ( ... )

Went to the mall yesterday as part of our massive (It's Dad's payday and PerCap day, must spend money) day. We're not even finished yet, because by the time we made it to Hy-Vee, I was too exhausted to do much, so we have to go back to buy human food today, and I also think we're going to make a run at Target today ( ... )

Yum! I actually pretty much love Progresso's lentil soup to start with and mixing with the rice should make it a little heartier.

I was so very disappointed over the Laurel Hamilton books. I thought there was so much potential in the characters and the world. I made it through Narcissus in Chains, though I was already pretty unhappy with how things were turning out. About halfway through the next book (Cerulean Sins, I think), I just gave up.

Thanks for the recommendations. I've had the first of the Tanya Huff books on a shelf for awhile now, so I'll probably start there, but the Kate Daniels series sounds like it has just about all of the things I love, so I've definitely got those on my list.

Thanks again.
