So Amber just turned 21 a few days ago, and tonight I'm taking her bar hopping for the first time. I'm thinking about taking her to the Tugboat, Shanghai, Dante's, maybe Kell's. Does anybody have any suggestions for downtown bars? She doesn't like beer, so cocktails and hard cider only.

The Living Room is a cool place, right next to Powell's. They usually have free jazz music too.

Another wonderful spot is The Southpark Seafood & Grill, across from the Dragonfish (about a block south of Nordstrom's). They only sell wine, but their service is amazing and it's a good place to go to relax.

I don't know of many places downtown, but tell Amber happy birthday for me. I know how agonizing it is to not have all that cheap happy food when you're significant other isn't 21 :P Have fun living it up!
