Brief Summary: Souji wakes up after all the shenanigans.

[Waking up is slow, and arduous.
He just wants to sleep. His body is leaden, and it hurts to breathe, like there’s a weight sitting on his chest.
Adachi is dead, he reminds himself, suddenly cold. That was his doing - his sword, his hands. He’d killed shadows, he’d killed fae when they attacked. Adachi had attacked, too. He was going to kill you. And he’s already killed Ange. And Karkat. And then there was what he did to Saki -
You did what you had to do, Ryu told him, he remembers. And it was true. He’d had to finish it.
Aside from the difficulty breathing, and a resounding ache in his head, he felt numb. All the croft ceilings look the same, but he reasons that they must have taken him to the infirmary - and he wonders if he has healing magic to thank for that, or just circumstance. Either way, his fingers itch, but he can’t seem to flex them. The sky ,beyond the sliver of window he can see in his peripheral vision, looks a little dark - dawn or dusk, he can’t tell. How long has he been sleeping for?
He just wants to sleep, but he needs to get up. He needs to check on the people who are still around. He needs to be ready for when Adachi comes back - they can imprison him, then, and prevent this from happening again. Besides, he has work to do. Watch shifts, upkeep of the inn. He has to make sure Nanako is alright, and everyone else, too. He has - be responsible. (Like he failed to be before.)
Get up, he tells himself, gritting his teeth and set on forcing himself to move. He can’t keep sleeping.
