[Myhrta smiles at the group, holding up one long strip of Frostweave.] I need a helper, here. Anyone mind getting bound up while I show the others how to do so?

[simon somewhat sheepishly raises his hand.]

[Grinning, Myhrta reaches out and takes his.] Thank you, good doctor.

Now, the Frostweave bandages are quite cold to touch. Would you maybe like to use me as the dummy while you show them how to bind up wounds?

Ah ... certainly. What sort of, um, wounds would you like to demonstrate first?

Head wounds aren't the easiest things to bind. Let's start with those.

[She sits. After all, she is almost seven feet tall.]

[simon thanks you for that. he's pretty tall and manly, but he's not THAT tall.]

Yes, um ... well, I suppose you'll want to make sure to stop the bleeding first, by applying pressure. Any foreign objects should be removed, but don't try to clean the wound unless you're absolutely certain you know what you're doing.

[Myhrta nods her head.] If you see something that you think is beyond your skill, the best thing to do would be to contact myself, Dr Tam, or Takano. As a general rule of thumb, you should stand in front of the person or the part of the person you are attempting to bandage. The exception to this rule is a head, eye or ear bandage.

We’ll show a scalp bandage first. This should start as your usual kerchief style. Dr Tam? [She folds her hands and waits for him to begin.]

Um ... yes! For a scalp wound, you'll want to start with a, um, triangular bandage. [he holds up a triangle-shaped piece of bandaging.] So called because of the, um, triangular shape, obviously. The, uh, key thing to remember about a triangular bandage is that is can be made out of any large enough piece of cloth in an emergency situation. You just ... place it on top of the head ... [he drapes it over myhrta's head and continues the demonstration like so.] ... And there you are. A nice, tidy scalp wound bandage.

[Myhrta smiles up at him.] And hopefully most of you don't have to apply one, but it might comes to it. Pair up and give it a shot!

[simon holds a nervous smile while the rest of the class gets to work. to myhrta, he says:]

I, um, hope I explained that well enough. I'm not used to doing much in the way of teaching.

[She waves off the concern.] Tch, you did fine! And thank you for being careful around my ears. [She starts to take off the bandage he put on.] What did you think of the Frostweave, by the way?

Mm, of course. [what sort of doctor would he be if he weren't attentive to things like ears?] The Frostweave? It's ... well, it's - it's an interesting medium, at least. I can't say I've worked with anything like it before.
