October 27th || Watch Meeting and Business #003
It's that time again, folks, so let's get down to business! The Watch would have held a meeting on the 27th of October at the inn as has become customary. As stated during the last OOC watch meeting post, the muns of characters present and, or involved with the Watch will need to respond to this post as it isn't completely informative and will contain things that need to be batted around as well as requests for opinions and the like.
Furthermore, if you haven't already gotten the idea that this is going to be a regular thing on the twenty-seventh of each month, here's your hint and confirmation! Meetings will always be held on the 27th of each month at one o'clock in the afternoon at the inn. There will always be food. Always. And of course, residents are welcome and encouraged to attend.
And now, without further ado...
ATTENDANCE
If your character will be attending, comment here. Likewise, if your character is a member of the Watch and won't be attending, comment here. If your character would have given advance notice that he or she won't be attending, that's cool, but again, comment here with who they would have told so we know. If somebody other than you doesn't know, it doesn't benefit your character!
THE AGENDA
• Command Switch. With Souji's blessing, Valeria will be formally reassuming command of the Watch as of this meeting. Souji will be commended for his performance during the past month, both within and outside of the Shadow Event, as will Yosuke and Kanji, who were undoubtedly huge aids within said event.
• The Investigative Division of the Watch - Discussion Thereof. At the last meeting, Valeria explained in detail the need for an investigative division of the Watch, one that will operate separately, but together with what will be known as the patrol division of the Watch. The Investigative Division of the Watch would be assigned specific tasks, such as looking into potential disappearances, exploring the manor, the island, various claims / etc.; however, the Watch's numbers have dwindled given the disappearances, if not altogether losses of a handful of its members. Therefore, Valeria is opening the floor again for input about the investigative division -- whether they should proceed with it and have it work more actively with the Watch as opposed to autonomously or be temporarily scrapped. Suggestions, comments, questions, and input from Watch members and spectators is greatly encouraged in this area.
• The restructuring of partnered pairs and shift teams is, as always, a priority. In other words, if your character doesn't like who they're partnered individually and, or in a shift team or would prefer a different partner or shift period, the meeting would be the time to make it known. That goes for putting forward suggestions concerning these things, too. Each pair and shift team can expect to be spoken to individually and separately. Consider it a check-up and feel free to drop a note in the comments about anything they would have said.
• The Shadow Event... took the village by surprise and Valeria will readily admit this. There were no plans in place at the time for such happenings, which is something that needs to be remedied. Considering what everyone (hi, Souji) had to work with at the time, they did extremely well in that there were no casualties that can be traced to the event itself. Nonetheless, Valeria will be requesting reports from everyone in attendance so as to aid in the devising of emergency plans. Feedback and conversation about this event is more than welcome, it's encouraged as Valeria will ideally be taking all of said feedback to the table with Schneizel and Zelda to create said emergency plans. She will also be requesting feedback regarding Shadows seen, their strengths and weaknesses, so that they can be compiled and copies made for Watch members to study as a safety precaution. This especially goes for the minor Shadows present as they were the ones everyone had to deal with if they went outside!
• Missing Persons... presently include Cara, Chie Satonaka, Cornelia li Britannia, and Junpei Iori. Watch members are advised to keep their eyes open for signs of these individuals, if not for the individuals for themselves, and inquiries as to any other known missing persons are invited. Please comment in the appropriate section to add someone or have your character make commentary regarding the aforementioned individuals' disappearances. You never know! Someone might have something useful, if not a clue as to their fates.
• Wards, Residences, and Effectiveness. The effectiveness of what wards have been provided residences -- namely the rowan provided by that handsome young Med'an and also the iron rods provided for for each home -- will be evaluated. If you couldn't tell, the floor is open on this topic, too. Anyone who'd like to volunteer feedback, feel free!
• Reports. Please to be making them as they're kind of important. It can be about the thing in the closet, encounters with various fae, change in fae activity in this or that area, suspicious behavior from a person, RECENT EVENTS, etc. These would likely have been handed in on paper or something regularly throughout the course of the month, but if we don't know what's been handed in, it makes it hard to address things, so get crackin'!
• Data Analysis via Reports and Steps Toward Improvement. All data submitted in the form of reports by the Watch members will be shared with the group at large. This includes fae sightings, attacks by the fae, general fae activity, wildlife activity -- basically, anything and everything that could be problematic and, or endanger the safety of residents and Watch members would have been discussed with regard to the what, when, where, how to combat and, or safeguard against, etc. The purpose of this exercise is to begin to gradually improve the Watch and its ability / tactics to safeguard the community building off the data gathered. In other words, this is another open floor topic after the data is presented.
• General Concerns, Questions, Suggestions. Any general concerns, questions, or suggestions had by anyone at the meeting will be addressed, too, so shoot them here and note that that's what it is / what would have been commented, asked, or suggested please!
• Open Floor. Open floor is exactly that. Anything goes here so long as it's watch or community-oriented and/or related. That includes introductions, discussions regarding sparring, bartering, sharing of information, announcements, and other things.
NOTE(S): Please bear in mind that a lot of the information Valeria will be working off comes from reports made by the Watch members, which, as previously stated, can be handwaved. I apologize if either of those things weren't clear; however, important things need to get back to me or someone who chats with me often and has a character actively involved in the Watch -- preferably before these posts so I don't have to edit them as much.
If there's something your character would have reported regarding any of these things, please mention it under REPORTS in the comments, even if it's something so mundane as the Redcaps being restless or something. That could potentially lead to plot. Use the system!
