[It's a quiet night if you're out and about, just dark enough for the shadows to start blending together but around the area of Community Housing #4 you might hear a dull thud. Look around enough and amongst the trees the sight of a body sprawled on its side can be seen. There's no movement, save for the slow (too slow) rise and fall of ( Read more... )

[She doesn't respond, doesn't move, save for the slight steady rise and fall of her chest. Maybe he's too far away and or maybe he's not loud enough but nothing registers, doesn't wake her and he gets nothing in return.

No familiar twitch of her ears or flick of her tail, she's disturbingly still and unnaturally pale.]

[It takes a moment but his voice breaks through, instead of a word it comes in as stretched out noise, confusing her and dragging her back to consciousness just barely. When her eyes open, brightness and sharpness doesn't immediately flood her vision. Color and shadow blur, slowly realigning themselves and everything feels so slow and blinking again doesn't clear her vision any faster and what happened, where was she, there was someone there, right?

She can't really tell, she can't even really tell she's awake except she just opened up her eyes and it's still dark and if Sanae looks into them, the normally vibrant red are dulled and far away doesn't even describe the look to them.]

[As more time passed after her return from the Malnosso, the drugs effect running through her body was lessening. Laying propped up in her own bed, feeling dreadfully tired coherency hadn't quite come back to her yet. Her body's movements and responses still sluggish and while sensation had come back to her body somewhat, she still felt prickly and numb, as if her whole body was asleep.

But it was better than before, even if she still wasn't quite in her right mind.

She's spent the greater part of the morning drifting in and out of sleep, her throat painfully sore when she first awoke. Adell had gone to fetch her a glass of water... however long ago that had been (her sense of time was shot to hell).]

[He's actually only been a moment. And he's come back with a big glassful, giving a gentle knock on the door to announce his presence as he comes back in. He approaches Mom, looking her over. Much like other occasions, he had never seen her like this before. Even when she was sick she showed threads of energy and of spirit. Right now, it barely looked like she was conscious and fighting to stay that way.

He carefully holds the glass out to her when he gets to her bedside.]

Here you go, Mom.

[The glass will get a blink or two before shakily she takes it in both hands, fingers curling around the glass somewhat tightly before bringing towards herself. Mom ends up cradling it to her chest before tilting it to her lips, sipping slowly, knowing the large gulps she wants to take are more likely to cause a coughing fit than help.]

....mph.

[Her coloring is still off and the uncomfortable yet slack look to her face is still there. The stubborn prideful part of herself can't help but want to shrink under her son's eyes. A moment of weakness is different from helplessness.]

[Adell sits down on the bed, looking over to her.]

...I'm glad you're back, Mom. Can I do anything else for you?
