Have you ever recommended your favorite book/album/movie/whatever to your best friend and then they don’t like it and you’re just like ‘who the fuck do you think you are’ and then you hate them forever?

…No?

Uh, me neither.

Incidentally, I no longer talk about things I really like with people I want to keep as friends.

...I have a completely destroyed friendship. I destroyed it! That was me! I picked a fight and then it was done!

But I stopped liking her for a while before the big implosion. I look at my total lack of regard for her as a human being, and I can tie it back to the fact that she didn't like American Gods (WHAT) (AND FOR A STUPID REASON, TOO), she thought Hot Fuzz was boring (WHAT) and she didn't like Allen Ginsberg's Howl (WHAT).

So now when I make new friends I ask them how they feel about American Gods and Hot Fuzz right away, so I can get an idea of how well we're going to get along.

ETA: I don't include poetry in my pre-friendship questionnaire, because lots of people just don't read poetry, so it's not a good standard for basing judgments, I think.

How the fuck could you find Hot Fuzz boring? But if it's who I think it is, you're better off for many more reasons than that.

LOL THIS.

Because you think it'll be cool but it just ends up in uncontrollable judging. D:

Yeah, I pretty much keep things that I'm passionate about to myself. I guess my favorite music is kind-of a closely-guarded secret, come to think of it.
