Also--I'm really into the idea of The King's Speech fic, and really wished the movie had opened just a tiny bit sooner so I could have requested it for Yuletide.

I predict much Yuletiding next year with this movie--it is just begging for fic!

Cruisedirector has written one, and has another, longer and more detailed, with er, more royal smexin'. I'm hoping she inspires more writers!

Yay, see you then. It looks like a smallish theater--will be looking for you!

I know, right? Even in cheesy comedies he brings a air of lust dignity and grace! I can't imagine anyone better playing the king!

I just saw John Gabriel Borkman last night--actually, I thought of you and wondered if you'd be coming. I shouldn't have doubted. :D

It was absolutely amazing. You will love it.

Yay, I'm so happy I'm getting to see it! I'm glad you enjoyed it.

Have you seen the previews for the new Jane Eyre movie--looks promising, I think.

Yes, I have seen the previews, though sadly never on the big screen in a theatre (not for lack of wishing/hoping, thoguh!) I think you commented on my LJ post about it, actually. I'm tentatively excited, because it actually looks like it might be good.

What did you think of Borkman? I loved it. Also, did you learn anything interesting at the talkback that you feel like sharing? :D

And finally, thanks for alerting me to the existence of cruisedirector's King's Speech fic--it was great.

Borkman was amazing! Such difficult material that the three leads just sank their teeth into and devoured! The talk back was a very mixed bag--the moderator was, um, not up to the task but Lindsay, Alan and especially Fiona were able to overcome that. Alan said that he felt the last act was, as written, unstageable and that to him, he played up the fact that Borkman's every thought, every line is unfinished--he starts sentences but never finishes them.

And if you're interested, Cruisedirector has started a comm for King's Speech fan fic and other stuff, http://community.livejournal.com/kings_speeches/

I can't wait to see The King's Speech. I also look forward to (fingers crossed!) many an AU where Snape and Harry (or John and Rodney, or *insert another favourite slash pairing here*) are transported to that world. From what I've seen of the trailer, I can get behind a surly Snape being hired to teach a reluctant prince/king!Harry.
