1) What is your opinion of this character? If you like, explain why you like him/her.
I mean, does "giddy noise of happiness" count as an opinion?
Let me be more eloquent. I really like Garrus, but I am also really in love with the entire Mass Effect squad except maybe Zaeed and maybe he can even come along too. But Garrus? Garrus I could just kind of watch talk and derp around for days, because he is a giant dinosaurish guy who kind of doesn't know what he's doing--this even extends to a certain point into Mass Effect 2, when he attempts to get all "serious" and wanders between "badass sniping of guys" and "angryyyyy". I think he's a really interesting addtion to the squad, especially given how he acts as a barometer to kind of tell where you sit on the Paragon/Renegade scale. And, I'll confess, I love listening to his terrible terrible terrible attempts at flirtation

1) What is your opinion of this character? If you like, explain why you like him/her. He is a BAMF and don't you forget it, mostly. I am usually pretty affectionate towards Standard Call to Action Mentor Guy, and Duncan is one of my favorites of those; one of the genuine and joyful surprises of replaying DA:O over and over again was seeing how he factored into each Origin story. (I will say that I love how his behavior in the origins gives you insight into him as a person; he is so kind and sympathetic to the two street-urchin/criminal types, even going so far as to give the dwarf commoner a present, come on. That you later find out that he came from an impoverished, criminal background is kind of heart-warming when you think about it.)
2) Is he/she important to the general plot? He's the Call to Action Mentor Guy, I told you that already--and you know what that means. He's not getting out of the First Act alive. I knew that going in, because, epic fantasy, duh. Still, Ostagar was a genuine punch in the gut to me, because of the

8) Does this character make the cut as one of your all time favorites (if you like) or least favorites?
No, but by gum do I love him anyway.
9) Would you hype up this character (if you like) or warn about this character (if you dislike) to someone new to fandom?
If someone wanted to know what was amazing about ME from me, they'd hear about Garrus - along with pretty much the rest of the cast.
10) Is this character popular with the fanbase?
I'm pretty sure the fanbase requests actually got him made into a Love Interest for Mass Effect 2, purely on demand? So. Yes. Yes, he is.
