So this week I'm teaching labs to high school teachers. I like them much more than the students because you can tell they want to be there and learn. These are the labs that were taught first term of freshman year so I'm not fresh on them but they're so much easier than the ones I was doing last term ( Read more... )

4th of July was awesome. Vic and I went to the zoo (for free!) then we went to the orchestra concert that night and I got to talk to my old viola teacher (who's doing awesome - has a 5 month old little girl!). Had a lot of fun today. Went to the Houston Museum of Natural Science and spent some time in the mineralogy department (hehehehehe). Then we all came home and did our own thing (Vic played Diablo II with my parents). Carol and my friend Tom (who I know through Carol - a friend from back home of hers) came down to visit us. We had a lot of fun just chatting and hanging out. Took a walk down to Carol's work near dinner and Tom was really hungry. Ended up eating at this Italian Bistro that Carol's roommate had told her was like olive garden only less expensive. Went to AnimeNext with Vic this weekend. It was so much fun. Watched lots of anime, saw some awesome costumes (and some that I wish I hadn't seen), and just had a good time. Have a small headache from the 2-hour bug I had last night. Chills - open window, a heavy wool blanket, a lighter wool blanket and a sheet and I was still cold, though my neck and face were warm.
