Vote: Yes/No on patdown searches upon entering NFL stadium?

I've always felt that that person who objects to being scrutinized is the one who has something to hide...so obviously I'm in favor.

Any thoughts?

Anywhere that is privately owned can reserve the right to searching people that enter. The condition is that you must give your consent to a search for exchange for entry, or you can deffer from giving consent by leaving the premises. They can't run out and grab you without probable cause that some property of theirs has been compromised(i.e. theft).

Practically every stadium is funded by public tax dollars; only the teams themselves are privately owned

Personally I don't want to get patted down, and I wouldn't want Alyssa to either. It seems like an extreme percaution espcially when hospitals, courts, and airports don't even go that far.

the arguement is that it is not reasonable

They also don't have 40,000+ people in one area...seems like a pretty good target to me.

number of people is a poor arguement. If someone flew a plane into a stadium they would do more damage than the amount of explosives the could carry. Furthermore the more likely target has been planes (as in they have been attacked serval times even since 911) certain places are threatened often such as the courthouse my sister works at, it is threatened weekly yet they find metal detectors sufficiant.

Pat downs of every person are a breach of the constitution and if that's not going to be held up then they've accomplished exactly what they wanted.

i personally think that you can't label everyone who objects to scrutiny as somebody who has something to hide. there is a thing out there called trust that nobody has anymore. there's also a thing called dignity. i don't want some guy patting me down to make sure i don't have a gun when i say that i don't. unfortunately there are people out there who can't be trusted and you can't take their word for it. but i wait for the day when i can trust and be trusted again.

To be fair, you'd have a girl patting you down, but whatever.

Trust is a hot commodity these days...I can tell you that I definitely don't have much to spare.

1/10 chance that a girl would enjoy patting her down as much as a guy would, and thus be equally creepy.

i don't want to be patted down
just cause it's a girl doesn't make it better...
it's like watching a "married couple" sex scene in a movie and justifying it because they're "married"

or maybe not, but i really wanted to use that analogy
