"Well!" Azkadellia said. "That was fun." She looked down at her sister and moved back towards the exit.
DG's hand slipped from hers. "Wait!" Azkadellia looked back and raised her lamp. A face emerged from the shadows. "Whoa!"
"What is this place?" Azkadellia asked, equally awed.
"It looks ancient," DG remarked. "Maybe it's a tomb."
"I'm not sure," Az replied, grabbing her sister's hand. "But that face creeps me out. Let's go." DG's hand slipped out again.
"Don't you hear it?" DG asked. She did. A eerie girl's voice. "There's some trapped in there."
Azkadellia saw DG approaching the face. Time to take action, she thought. DG let out a cry when Azkadellia stepped out in front of her and picked her up over her shoulder. "Az! We have to help

hehee... I liked them both, actually! This one was really good, though. If I were in that cave, I'd get so freaked out by the face that I would have carried DG bodily out, as well.
You have to think - what happened when their mother got down there?

"DG, this isn't your fight!" called Glitch.
DG lowered the stick. There were a lot more of those men than there were of her, especially since it didn't look like Glitch would be any help. All she would do was make them even angrier than they were, and they'd probably treat their victims even worse. She sighed. That poor family. Wish I could've helped themGlitch suddenly brightened. Ah! Death all around! Well. At least the Papay were happy... until Az successfully brought darkness to the realm and everything died.
The choice DG made was perfectly logical... In fact, I'm sure I would have done the same. (Strange new world, no idea where you are. You don't know what's going on!) And yet, it really isn't her. The decision she made in the series to step in was totally a DG move. Which makes one wonder - how much of the plan worked and how many things worked out well simply because DG was DG?

Death all around!
Yikes! I just reread your prompts (I'm putting the fics on my website) and realized you specifically asked for no character death - I'm SO SORRY! And thanks for not being mad.

How much? - lots of it! Excellent observation. If she hadn't been so impetuous - I was thinking, well, she was like that as a child, too, but the Queen was really counting on adult DG having the same personality as little DG, wasn't she? No guarantees there - hm - unless maybe Hank & Em were programmed to foster that trait (Hank by encouraging her feisty ways, Em by giving her something to rebel against)?

Nah, it's alright. AU's sometimes go hand in hand with character death. It's non-AU character death I wanted to avoid this time around.
There was a lot the Queen was relying on to happen. Making a plan that depends upon the actions and decisions of others... that's such a risky thing. You can't guarantee that stuff! I've always equated this type of planning with Dumbledore. *shakes head*
4. Glitch/Cain - It's all a game of chess - 1/2amediaDecember 14 2009, 16:27:21 UTC
The days following the Eclipse were busy ones for everyone. The four companions who had saved the O.Z. would have loved to have spent time together, but each was kept so busy, there was no chance for quiet time

Midway through their second game something happened that was purely accidental. Cain was moving a piece off to the side just as Ambrose was reaching out to make his next move, and their hands came briefly into contact. Ambrose wasn't so sure that the next time was an accident; he was positive that the third was deliberate, since it was he who initiated it, and it was he who lingered, prolonging the contact for just a moment, carefully not lookign up

Cain was almost 100 yards down the path when he realized that the others weren't on his trail. He stopped and turned back with that look and found his traveling companions standing back at the fork; DG's arms were crossed and Glitch was almost standing behind Raw
