If I ever make it back to Canada, my first stop is going to be Bulk Barn.
What a dream come true.

Is it as awesome as I imagine??

You don't have bulk stores in your area? We don't have Bulk Barn here, but lots of similar places.

Some places sell bulk stuff - but as far as I know, no dedicated bulk stores. its funny because I always thought I'd want to open a place where you could go to buy like...3 eggs or 1/2tsp of spice - so you wouldn't have to buy TONS of different ingredients to make a recipe. Ya know? But...it's essentially just a bulk store!

(now I thinking maybe it would be a bad idea in the US!)

Anyway, some of the grocery stores have bulk areas for things like nuts, oats, rice, dried fruit and trail mix and some candy.
The health store near me has the same kind of stuff in bulk - plus more "hippie" stuff as well as bulk spices, and honey, maple syrup, organic PB, and even soap!
And I'm sure Whole Foods probably has more selection, but I'm not sure I've ever been to one!
