So, random question.  I was in the mood for some Percy/Margot romance, and I started wondering something.  Out of Orczy's original books (all 15 of theme or whatever), which one has the "most" or the "best" Percy/Marguerite romance scenes?  I've only read TSP and Elusive, and plot summaries of the rest (haven't been able to get my hands on the ( Read more... )

I don't have an answer seeing as I've only read those two, as well.

But if you're looking for some of the other books, you can download them in e-book format here:

'The Caged Lion' chapter in Eldorado - beats even 'Richmond', because Percy and Marguerite can both show their feelings for each other. Plus, it has Tortured!Percy, Marguerite beinng strong for both of them, and Chauvelin hovering somewhere outside the room. Perfect!

Orczy could write some beautifully romantic moments, in a subtle, love-not-lust, Victorian stylee. Only Sir Percy and Marguerite can make me *swoon* - modern historical romances just seem cliched.

I have to second this. Although the Richmond chapter just moves me every time i re-read it! There is something lovely in Eldorado because it gives a great picture of their relationship as it matures. It's good to read getting together type stories, but I appreciate the glimpses into what happens further down the road.

'The Cosy Corner' in Mam'zelle Guillotine has a pretty good scene, where we see Percy on the job and Marguerite, who by then is a member of the band and actively participating in their activities, meeting him briefly. The chapter before, 'A Message', is Marguerite-centric and has her worrying about Percy.

'The Whirlwind' (the last chapter) in Triumph of the Scarlet Pimpernel absolutely brilliant too, with Percy rescuing Marguerite, and oh, what a rescue too!

And as previous commenters have said, there's Eldorado. These are some of my favourites.
