(One of those times when there are random thoughts that don't make a coherent post, but I want to get them out anyway.)
After my computer playlist went on a Disney streak:

I love finding people who read those books too! There actually seems to be someone whenever I mention them, which is excellent. As for King of Attolia ... I was actually disappointed in it. I wanted to love it as much as I loved the previous ones, but I got so annoyed with how Eugenides's character was treated by the author. He is great, and fascinating, and better and worse than he thinks, but he was treated as far too great in KoA. It was mildly annoying, and then there was a line that said "if Attolia was a queen, then Eugenides was a god" and my entire reaction was "GO TO HELL GEN". I, er, get defensive about my favourites, and I like Attolia a bit more than Gen.
It's still such a good book - well constructed and funny and intricate, and Eugenides/Irene is more OTP than I can express, and I want more. ...But Eugenides ANNOYED ME SO MUCH.

This is my default state of "How I read Reborn". (The "I know he fails but I still want to try hard because of the good in him" thing made me wibble hard. And also wonder when Gokudera was getting his stalking in - did he really know about Tsuna being a loser about Kyoko? XD) But the Shitt P/Gokudera is an unexpectedly delicious bonus.
I can definitely see how KoA is your favourite, it was hilarious and great in many ways. My bias is just slightly different. And both Irene/Eugenides and Costis/Eugenides are awesome. ♥
