Red Velvet
Prologue
"President Takarada, sir?"
Lory looked up from his paperwork and spied his assistants head peeking nervously around the door to his office.
"Hai Mine-san?" He asked
Lory found it curious that the woman glanced at whoever was sitting down in the waiting room before she answered his question.
"Your ten o'clock appointment is waiting for you sir. Would you like me to…er…show her in?"
No, no." Lory brushed off his assistants question as he stood up. "I'll be right out to show her in myself."
Mine-san breathed a sigh of relief and seemed to sag for a moment before she remembered where she was and who she was standing in front of. She blushed heavily as she caught her bosses amused glance and stuttered before hurrying back to her post.
Lory chuckled at the obviously flustered, retreating form of his subordinate. But when he thought about her reaction to the woman sitting waiting to meet with him his smile died instantly.
His poor assistant had been terrified of the woman; that was clear to anyone who happened to witness the conversation. The way she had looked like she was going to almost cry with relief at not having to have any more interaction with his guest immediately put the President of L.M.E. Entertainment on the alert.
Just who was this guest and why had she terrified his staff?
As a matter of fact…how had she managed to terrify his staff? With himself, his granddaughter and Kyoko regularly making an appearance around his assistant she should have become immune to such dark vibes…
The only conclusion that Lory could reach was that this woman was a force to be reckoned with.
Sighing, he carded his hand through his hair and straightened his tie before moving around his desk and heading for the door.
It wasn't as if he could even turn this woman away as she had made the appointment through all the right channels. He couldn't even say that he forgot that he had arranged the meeting as, not only would it look highly unprofessional, it had been on the books for weeks now.
Reaching the door, Lory sighed as his fingers curled around the door knob before he plastered a polite smile upon his face. Striding through the door he started to welcome his guest.
"Welcome to L.M.E. Entertainment would you…"
He trailed off as his eyes widened at the sight of the woman sitting innocuously in his waiting room.
There was no mistaking it. The resemblance was undeniable.
Lory felt like he was seeing a ghost. He probably looked like it as well, if the woman's cocked eyebrow were anything to go by.
"Takarada-san I presume?" She asked icily.
Something that Lory couldn't identify twisted sharply in his gut. This was bad.
And he had a feeling that it was going to get a whole lot worse…
