time for an update

Sep 05, 2005 01:36

Ok, well it has been awhile since I have done an "actual update" and deem it a necessary time to update. Well so much happened over the past week and a half I just want to get it out. Not just for my sake, but for some of my friends (my friends being Kolt Green, that's about it, haha. Not too many are on LJ) because I haven't had the chance to ( Read more... )

I'd have dropped by Tom's on Sunday night, but I ended up having to throw a semi-surprise birthday party for my cousin. Its been quite a busy weekend for me.

Haha yeah, I couldn't make it (as you saw) cuz I was pretty much in Altoona til 5ish and then once I did get back I was just shagged with driving as I've drove over 7 hours in 2 days, doesnt sound like a lot but when you played a gig, been out in the sun and then have work to still finish up, it is, heh. Anyways, yeah, sounds like the tapes turned out good of our gig and then before that, recording sessions. I can't wait to see them :) Yeah our gig turned out pretty decent, in the midst of playing it, I mean as you're up on stage you don't really get the whole effect until your offstage and you get a chance to chill out and calm down, lol. So, to see how it all went over, now, on tape, should be pretty neat. Had a few naff moments on stage with sound and some crap wasn't working, all their faults mind you, lol. Nah, they were good guys (sound guys) but I expected a little more professionalism with the equip they had which was tons and the experience they claimed to have.

ooh I understand, all that driving mixed with all that heat and work to top it off is just not that great...but anyway its no biggy, of course Tom said everyone would be there and no one came at ALL haha! but anyway I have some pics from it, rather funny also, so I'll be sure to have em up soon

yea def dude!! it's just soo much more different when you watch it on tape..and when you do your like itching to get back on stage. But yea Tommy was actually filling me in on all the glitches and shit you guys had, but all in all didn't sound too bad. Oh and Dean at the recording sessions FUNNY SHIT!! lmao! ooh while I'm on that I ALSO saw you do the MONKEY DANCE!!!!!!!!!!!! which I haven't seen since like 6th grade!!!! WOW thats a long time! but that was sooo damn funny! i told tom to rewind it and play it again haha

Yeah, I mean, the sound guys were nice enough, but the sound glitches were very... Well... basic. An event of that size really shouldn't be having those types of problems. And the man running the soundboard didn't seem very experienced at it.

Again, great guys, didn't hesitate to listen to my advice on how to mix the band, and were very prompt about fixing their errors... But, overall, they just seemed a tad inexperienced.

aah ok! yea I wasn't even aware there was a guy working the entire soundboard...I thought Robin (their band manager) would be working it, but guess it was one of those were they have a so-called "experienced" guy working it
