My heart goes out to Houston today

As most of you probably know, they've been hit hard, and many folks ignored the evacuation alerts. I hope all our friends and families here in Texas are safe and sound today, and I wish for a speedy rescue and recovery for Houston. The damage is massive... I'm just hoping all the folks that decided to stay behind are alright. Something like 140,000

This is the first article where I read it was an actual "mandatory evacuation" - http://apnews.myway.com/article/20080913/D93632MO0.html
I guess Ike packed a lot more punch than folks believed it would. I'm also thinking when the city is making an evacuation mandatory, we should probably pay attention.
