Brain needs a rest

Friday post out. Tried exercising: failed. Too much eating pizza/ice cream, not enough doing anything other than eating and writing. Have to shave legs for wedding and put on horrible orange "salmon" bridesmaid dress with "contrasting" yellow polka-dot shawl. Sick of researching breast cancer, pancreatitis and knee replacement surgery.

Well, I'm glad to know you are writing the St.John fic - I've been avoiding it because I really could not imagine it working, but you do good character work, good logic, actual plot --- I'll be reading it for sure.

Really good fan writing does not get as much general fan attention as fluffy porn, but the readers of the good stuff appreciate it, even think about it, and sometimes comment. I've not made any comments on the kink meme partly because I'm on OpenId from Dreamwidth and I'm still figuring out how it works. I'll try to drop some comments on AO3, or on individual blogs. I suspect you have readers who don't comment for any number of reasons - before the net you had to write actual letters to comment on fic in zines, or you could do a LOC (letter of comment) in the next issue of the zine, where everyone could read it. You can guess how many there were.

haha! You make a very good point--I forget the days before the internet, sometimes, when researching trivia was a total hassle and unless you had an encyclopedia (always tragically out of date) you could never settle questions. And trying to find info at the library on your favorite authors and what else they'd even written was *impossible* if they only published in another country or something. Just killed me with all the British authors I tried to read
