Why isn't school over yet?

Seriously. I do not understand. I have two cumulative finals on Wednesday, and since I am only pulling an 86% in this class I will probably have to do some actual studying. A LOT of actual studying. Currently I am trying to remember how diabetic ketoacidosis presents and why it screws with the pH of blood, trying to memorize peak action times of ( Read more... )

on behalf of diabetics everywhere i greatly appreciate your struggle to remember all that crap!!! <333

you will be an awesome nurse :D and you will garner all sorts of awesome stuff during your shifts and will beautifully fictionalize it all into a best selling novel and then will be able to stop nursing and write full time.

PROBLEM SOLVED ^_^

oh dear, that was sort of the plan :) except for the bit where I retire to write. I really love the nursing itself, it's just the studying that makes me want to claw my eyes out.

Booooooo diabetes! It's so frickin' complicated, and some many doctors (and nurses) complain about how people aren't compliant with diabetes management, because IT SUCKS. Carb counting and finger poking and figuring out injection amounts and balancing 2 or 3 types of insulin. And they always say things like "if you just lose 10% of your body weight you can get eliminate the need for insulin and blood sugar checking!" And that makes me extra pissed. Things I have tried: quitting smoking and losing 15 lbs & keeping it off for more than 2 months. Things I have actually managed... just the first (and it took 2 years). /nursingschoolrant

lol, i honestly can't imagine ever not working at something. writing can't be my full time job, cuz then i'd hate it like a job :D it has to stay a passionate hobby for me to enjoy it.

luckily i only have pre-diabetes, but i'll probably be full blown by the time i'm 40, cuz yeah- losing weight is hard and it's not like i'm NOT TRYING and it runs in my family like wildfire and the POD doesn't help matters either /healthissuesrant

and i promise i won't comment anymore so you can do your studying! *much luvs and luck*

ok, yes I had better study. But but but internet! So much more fun. losing weight--I am waiting for the magic metabolism pill. Or for things to stop being so tasty. And impossible to walk to.

hooray for jobs that we don't actually hate! I figure I'd be miserable with writing if it was my whole paycheck. Now, a nice bonus for the holidays? TOTALLY DIFFERENT.

OK, I'm going to actually go. Once you tell me what a POD is. Because this is a totally new thing to me :(

THINGS SHOULD NOT TASTE SO F-ING GOOD! and exercise shouldn't be so hard :(

lol, Polycystic Ovarian Disorder. it's an insulin insensitivity with lots of unpleasant symptoms and not much to be done about it as a whole. and it predisposes me to diabetes (like half my family having it wasn't enough).

you study! i believe in you!

THERE. I have studied like a very good girl for 3 hours straight. how productive of me. Now for my reward: WRITING. YAY.

why are there so many shitty nurses? i have no idea. It's not like it doesn't take 3 years of really hard work to be one... and yet. The stupidity i see every day... IDEK. I will be better. Or at least not worse.

Indian Food Friday is my new favorite idea. Why have I not been doing that? I will post, and then do housework and reward myself with curry for lunch and THEN check to see if there are comments. :D

ps: do not read the Book of Common Prayer. NO.
