Tuesday, brought them down to Bloomington so I could run errands. Standard tour of town and campus, visit to Upland went over well. Wednesday was general touristing and shopping in Indy, plus dinner party in the evening. Thursday, packed them off back home. New belts, water pump, oil, battery, full tank, and the car is running as if I had never stopped driving it. Shifter has loosened up, although it's still a little off, but otherwise it's purring. It was great to just potter around town running little errands. Met a couple of English girls at the library - unfortunately, they're going home soon, ( Read more... )

Started the car up today finally. It's still kind of sad but it runs. But I took it in for timing belt/water pump/oil change and quick once-over, so it'll be gone probably until Monday. So I'm getting very antsy now, having a car I can drive again, but not being able to do so ( Read more... )

Finally got to the bloody BMV on a day when it was open. Despite the usual Moebius lines, damn near failing the vision test in my left eye (must make optometrist appointment), having to take the written test (49/50, I cringe to think that there are people on the road who failed it multiple times), I now have a valid driver's license, and a plate ( Read more... )
