Can you spot the errors in the review?

I recently had a paper rejected from ECOOP '09. It sounds like it was close to getting in, and it's possible that the review summarized below tipped the balance. I've paraphrased most comments to protect the guilty. A running total of the error count is displayed in parens.

Argh, that plain sucks. Sadly see that too often.

I just re-read one yesterday with the gem (unsigned, but clearly from the author of System X) "System X already has good performance, what use is something twice as fast?"

can't you list author of system x as a conflict of interest reviewer when submitting?

Nah, they would have to recuse themselves if they thought they were conflicted. I think the reviewer did not author system X, actually, because he seemed to not understand some of the issues with it.
