Funnier still is that the whole part about eerie - really did happen. I met this guy in Deep Ellum years ago, he told me his name was eric, he stood me up for a date, I called his grandma and she was like "His name is not Eric, it's Eerie. His name has always been Eerie." But she said it in a really stern way, like not loving at all. He left some message on my machine like 2 weeks later in a disguised boogy man voice stating deep ellum wasn't safe for pretty girls who were alone. That creeped me out, I ended up calling up the local radio station The Edge, and telling them about the guy, and they aired it, mentioned how loony toons it was, lol.
