My my, how unseemly of the Victoria II. To choose to abandon their current obligation in favor of chasing pirates? I must wonder if they were given an order to follow the 4423, or if they are simply doing so out of their own desires-- or rather, their captain's desire. It would be an insult to Parliament if their servant did not even listen to them ( Read more... )

I'll admit, it does seem a little weird that they'd suddenly ditch their orders and just go chasing the ship.

Though the 4423's notorious as far as pirate ships go, so it's not surprising that the Victoria and it would have a bit of history.

Indeed. The perfect alignment of coincidences is much too tempting for the Victoria II to simply leave them be.

And with all considered...ugh, I'll never understand it. I guess it's perfectly 'convenient', but at the same time, running around with guns blazing is not exactly a good way to make the Ivonian military shine with excellence. If they had any sense, they'd have asked an outside source to take care of the 4423 and then take credit for themselves, for 'initializing and overseeing' the attack, if in fact the 4423 did fall.

The outside source in this drama being played by us.

But instead they're sticking their necks out like this, and we all know that the 4423 is going to outrun them. It always does--something tells me that they won't let a military ship shoot them down, or at least won't let gunfire fly at them without a good less-than-warning shots back...

The Captain does seem like an angry man. It's a sad thing, but some people never learn to control their tempers.

A pity, isn't it? That temper may be his downfall one day. Though he certainly has a will as steely and tenaciously stubborn as my own Young Master's.
