My point of view on my work:

Apr 16, 2009 10:06

Today, Miyagi-kyoushi, my coworker with whom I share my office, reminded me yet again the nickname I've earned from my students: Kamijo the demon. They claim I'm cruel for throwing books and pelting them with chalk, but I claim they're ingrateful little brats who would rather waste their time, money, and energy on laptops and cellphones during ( Read more... )

*eyes widen with interest* Oh wow! I have heard of great works done like that before in my lands as well. It seems that Earth and where I'm from are not that much different when it comes to preserving history. I like to paint and I love to read. I'm not exactly the scholarly type, but the actuality of history and literature seem to go hand in hand. I could be wrong though.

*tilts his head inquisitively* You're really an interesting person to talk to.

*a little surprised* Thank you. History and literature do leave a lot to interpretation, but that's the beauty of it. Are you a painter?

Demon? Like Wolfram?

And a professor is.... like a teacher, right? So you teach at a school? What is school like?

It's just a nickname, the rumors are wildly exaggerated, and I'm not really a demon. A professor is a teacher who has a PhD and teaches at a prestigious school like a university or boarding school.

You've never been in school, I take it? You spend six to eight hours a day reading books, doing projects, writing papers, answering questions, and otherwise learning. There are periodic breaks, lunch, and lots of socializing.

I'm sorry. *Looks down for a moment* *Mutters something about not trying to be rude*

*Looks back up* School doesn't sound as bad as Grace always makes it seem when she talks about it....

I've always liked school. You should try yourself to see if you like it or not.

Ahahahaaa! Another chalk-pelting teacher? Sounds a bit familiar to me. I don't suppose you'd know a lowly priestly math teacher off in Tokyo...

Ooh, sounds like your co-worker's a little cuddly, too.

*He snickers privately over 'there is no big pink eraser' for his own reasons*

Yeah, my coworker is prone to "cuddle" and be inappropriate at times. Our working relationship has a lot of friction, but we seem to manage to get things done in a timely manner.

Without a name, I can't tell you if I know that math teacher you mentioned. Tokyo is rather populated...
