Almaz Von Almandine Adamant
abravelikehero | disgaea 3
Outwardly, Mao sees Almaz as...well, a servant. Okay, one that managed to get away, but in Mayfield, where he's from an earlier point in time, he's still a servant. Mao's glad for the opportunity to start experimenting on the poor guy again, and without Sapphire or Beryl around to keep him restrained, he'll be a little...ah, busy. Poor Almaz.
Inwardly, though, Mao thinks of Almaz as his friend. There's a layer of sadness at the fact that he's a demon again and doesn't remember their adventures, but he's also kinda glad the guy's here, even if he's still turning into a demon and doesn't remember about the rest of their adventures past...whatever point he's from. It doesn't really matter to him, anyway: in the end, Almaz is still Almaz, and that's just fine by him.

Outwardly, Mao just doesn't know what to think about her. You can tell the jury's still out on this girl, because he has no idea. All he knows is that she's apparently a...beauty queen. Or something.
Inwardly, he has no idea either.

Again, he has no idea, both outwardly and inwardly. The only time they actually met was during the post-game (and no, not counting the Laharl ending, either), and even then he didn't know her all that well. She's apparently a fan of the Prism Rangers, though.

His not!dad. Outwardly, Mao sees him as someone who's rather annoying at times, but he is useful every so often. And besides, he seems to have quite a few abilities he'd love to find out more about, preferably through dissection and other such fun things.
Inwardly, Mao sees him as...well, not a father figure, that's for sure, but he cares for him. Somewhat. Given time, he'll probably grow to see Wilhelm as something of a father figure, though it will never come close to his real dad.

Oh, not!mom. Outwardly, Mao doesn't really mind her around all that much. She doesn't interfere in his work so much, though she does annoy him somewhat. He's curious about her, though.
Inwardly, he's already latched on to her. Seriously. No one knows who his mother is, and if he does know it's not like he'll tell anyone. But he does see Letty as something of the mom he never had, if the mom you never had is from Gensokyo and has a thing for ice. MATCH MADE IN HEAVEN, I SWEAR.

Not!sister. Outwardly, he's curious about her, but doesn't really mind her all that much. As long as she stays out of his business, he stays out of hers (mostly), and he thinks they're all happy that way.
Inwardly, he likes her, somewhat. Not to the point of actual sibling love or anything, but he does want her to at least stay of the way of more dangerous experiments. Except when he explicitly wants her on his table, but he doesn't know that much about her yet.

Outwardly? He's planning to turn Hal into his servant, like he did to Almaz. He sees him as annoying, but potentially useful, and each encounter they have ends in Mao either immersing himself in comic books for days or probably being in a bad mood for a while. Or wanting him to be his servant all the more. SIGH.
Inwardly, he values Hal as a friend. Yes, he's annoying, but he kind of reminds him of Almaz, sometimes. He likes the guy, and will definitely protect him, though he'll keep saying that it's just because he can't waste a good servant. (Oh, god, if he ever sees Green Lantern in action, he'll simultaneously fanboy over him and tsun towards him.)
