[Mao's...not very pleased about what's going on. He's getting pretty sick of the whole "everybody's telling the truth" thing, which, unbeknownst to the poor guy himself, is going to happen to him once he gets asked a question.

Let the fireworks begin.]

[Barton's a bit weirded out by all the sudden calls, too. She spends a lot of her off time in the comic shop as well, so she's there, paging through some Batman comics.]

Stuff like this just sort of happens sometimes. It'll end soon. And then we'll probably get prizes! Maybe, we don't get stuff every time something bad happens. It's hard to tell what's the mid boss and what's the actual boss event. But is telling the truth really so bad? Most the time things are easier when everyone tells the truth.

Are you kidding me?! I'm not telling the truth if I can help it!

[Which he can't.]

But telling the truth isn't so bad. I bet a lot of good things could be done if you did. You hold way too much inside you know, letting it out will feel better.

[Lois is horrified at all the disembodied announcements that keep yelling uncomfortable truths to her on the street. All the people that are chasing her down, attempting to declare their deep, dark, and usually bewildering secrets to her. It's downright stressful, damnit! Even if her career has been made searching for the truth, there's a line, people!

Having just fended off a man declaring his appreciation for her backside, she ducks into the closest shop she can find to take a breather. At least this place is fairly empty...]

[Sure, if you define "fairly empty" as "having one very creepy kid reading and drooling over Superman comics in the corner". No, Mao hasn't noticed Lois yet, but she's free to hear him.]

Hmm...so he gets his powers from the sun...

[The gears in his head, they are a-turnin'.]

[It takes her a second to register the words, but when she does, she frowns and glances over at the kid. And then casts a look around.]

A comic book shop. Awesome.

[Lowering his comic book to snap at someone and just

staring

before leaping up and dramatically pointing at her]

You're her! You're Superman's girlfriend, aren't you?

[...Nice job, Mao.]

I don't have any true love!

[A crush, maybe, but no true love. Yet.]
