It's Over

...And all of a sudden everything is green. The trees that have been dead all winter are full of the young shades of green; the dark purple-light purple-white lilacs in the alley are all blooming. It's been a rough winter. So I made an offhanded comment in our team's Slack thread [well I was actually answering a question in a document my boss was reviewing about whether or not our college can require students/employees to be vaccinated, and I said "per DeSantis's executive order 2 weeks ago, no one in Florida can require proof of a COVID vaccine ever."] The offhanded comment I made was something along the lines of how this will "make our jobs easier, anyway" [since we wouldn't need to write a bunch of new copy to add to our existing COVID training guidelines]. A bartender, and a rather outspoken one, overheard, and commented "I wish I had covid so that I could give it to any anti-masker or anti-vaxxer that comes in here so they die." Like, damn, dude. Not only is that so inappropriate on so many levels, and that at least 4 of the people in the ( ... )
