Okay, so I have been getting some friends into supernatural lately, and I was rewatching Bedtime stories in season 3... This is the episode where Sam finally kills the crossroad demon. Problem is when I was watching this scene... I saw Sam asking the demon who holds the contract like I was expecting. Except this time I caught on to the reference to ( Read more... )

It could have been a way for the Cross Road Demon to throw Sam off Lilth's trail; being that demon's lie and all that. Could just have been an honest ooops in the script writing process, or as you suggested it could have been the truth, and Ruby could have been the one lying about Lilth holding Dean and her's deals. But I'm betting that it was probably the CrossRoad Demon's way of attempting to throw the boys off Lilth's trail.

Yeah your probably right... I just tend to trust the crossroads demon more than those two considering Bella has been known to lie, and Lilith could have easy mislead her about owning all the deals. In addition to this it would make more sense as to why she is/was trying to kill Sam. Because she wasn't the one who allowed him to be brought back to life in the first place.

And on the other hand the crossroads demon supposively can't break her word... (cause of her deals, Crossroad Blues) and I just wonder if she makes a habit of telling the truth more so then other demons... Anyway I hope that it wasn't some wierd mistake that the writer's made and that they are paying more attention to the small details like that. For now I am leaning towards the idea that they do ^.^ If only for my own sanity.

Since this season has really been screwy with continuity (welching clause anyone?), I'm leaning more towards that it was a last minute decision on the writers' part in making Lilith the contract holder. Because not only did the CRD refer to it as a "he", but Tammy/Astaroth did so as well in Mallaeus Maleficarum (sp?). Hopefully they get better at keeping things together next season ;)
