John had been holed up at the desk most of the weekend. The bulletin board covered in yellow post-its in his office had developed a double and the pile of books on the desk was getting rather high

Zoe had gone looking for Grace, and when she saw her with John, she had to just stand and enjoy the sight of the two of them together for a minute.

"Isn't it a little early to get her involved in researching?" she teased.

"She can't read," John pointed out.

"My point exactly," Zoe said. "Or are you just using her as a lap warmer?"
