The doctors think Brian may not actually be diabetic. Instead, they think he has TTP.

Thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura (TTP or Moschcowitz disease). My guess would be the idiopathic form of TTP, which is basically "an unknown cause" as Wikipedia says. I guess doctors tried to give him some platelets earlier..but it didn't go very well. The

I'll cross my fingers for him. I've heard of that disease. A friend of my dad's had it. I'm not exactly sure what happened, though.
