FF4 remake- serious failings?

It's still FF4, and the retranslation hits the spot well, but the combat scales too rapidly (Cecil, who is supposed to be less overpowering, is more overpowering, and even hits zombies on Ordeals for 225, when in the original, he was forced to hit for 1) and had its calculation system dumbed down a ton (thus creating scaling issues).  Bleh.

Kids today just don't understand how badly they need Porom & Palom.

Also, I hear Rydiah is sexier in the remake. Confirm/deny?

As soon as I get there, I will probably confirm. She was always my favorite.
