Summary: Zelos want’s to show Ram something special.
Zelos watched his room mate and partner for a moment, able to clearly see the figure curled up on the blankets and pillows that had been collected on the floor. Glancing up at the empty bed he noticed signs of someone having slept there at some point that night, at least he was trying to get used to the bed. His eyes soon were back on the blond, each rise and fall of his chest clearly defined my the soft glow of the lights that were a part of his very skin.
With a soft smile and sigh he leaned down to shake one of Ram’s shoulders calling out softly to him. It didn’t take much to wake the former program up, and soon those blue eyes were focusing on him.
“Zelos? Is something wrong?” He asked, looking about and clearly noticing that it was still pitch dark outside.
“Nothing’s wrong, I wanted to show you something.” Zelos explained, beckoning for Ram to get up and follow him, a thick blanket in his other arm. “To see it you have to get up very early, but it is worth it.” He added.
With a still slightly sleepy agreement Zelos was soon headed out of their apartment and upstairs with Ram following closely behind. At each turn of the stairs he glanced out the window, making sure they wouldn’t be late. Reaching their destination Zelos let them both out onto the roof, Ram shuffling a bit closer and shivering slightly.
“Here will be good.” Zelos said, sitting down with his back propped to the side of the stair exit on the building. He had the blanket behind him and sat down cross legged, where he gestured for Ram to come join him. “Come on, sit down, it won’t be long now.”
With Ram sitting between his thighs, back pressed to his chest, Zelos wrapped the blanket around the both of them, creating a cocoon of warmth around them. Just as they were snuggled down and settled the first faint light started to appear, turning the sky from a dark blue black into as faint blue gray. They watched for a little bit as the sky continued to lighten before it seemed to darken again; at this Ram looked at Zelos with a little confusion.
“Why is it dark again?”
“’The night is always darkest before the dawn’ or at least that is the way the phrase goes, that was what is called false dawn. What really happens is that light is being reflected from a distance, but once the sun moves close enough to rising the refection no longer shows up.” He said, explaining the phenomenon. With wide eyes Ram looked back to the sky line.
There in the distance was just a tiny speck of light, and as they watched it grew, the sky around it fading back into color from it’s nightly black, purples and rose colors littering the horizon. Slowly the sun inched up, each moment bringing another burst of beauty into the world. Zelos could feel Ram’s heartbeat as the other male stared wide eyed with wonder at the sight before him; Zelos pulled him even tighter to him, resting his head on Ram’s shoulder to watch the sunrise with him.
A few minuets later found the sun to bright to look at directly and the two of them simply cuddled there, comfortable and warm despite the continued chill in the air. “Beautiful” Zelos heard Ram whisper, and without looking at him smiled.
“It always is, no matter how many times you see it.”
There was a short pause before Ram responded with a shy sounding “Yeah.” This prompted Zelos to look at him and just as he did he saw Ram quickly looking away. A soft blush colored the redheads cheeks as he realized what Ram was talking about and all he could do was look at the blond in his arms that deserved the description of beautiful as feint purple colored those glowing circuits.
