The writing for Sam is "off", for want of a better term. If I'm going to qualify it, her humanity is gone in favor of her being cool and blandly scientific. Now, whether the intent is there or not, the character seems very uncomfortable, tentative. Given some of the things she's been through - Dad's dead, Pete's gone, and she may be with Jack, but Jack is as gone as Pete as far as WE can tell - they may be playing her through an arc and finding a good way to bring her around.
Then again, they may just be writing her badly because they're into the season and need to reintegrate her without it seeming like she popped in all bubbly and chipper and fully in synch with the rest of the team.
I play wait-and-see with SG1. A LOT. :)
And when DIDN'T Jack look like he wanted to run away?
There was the "So your single." "Not exactly." So maybe there is some major Sam arc they're setting up, but they better get to it soon, because right now, blaugh. And really, Sam/Jack is my least favorite thing about the show, not just least favorite pairing, least favorite anything. Its always seemed so forced, and its suposed to be so important, but they ignore it half the time. It gives me a headache. And how would they do it if Jack isn't on the show anymore?
Maybe its not Jack? Maybe its not a love interest arc at all. Maybe replecator Sam is back? *snerk*
And Jack did seem like he wanted to run away most of the time, unless there was food involved, then he looked plenty interested. *g*
