Yeah. I figure they charged us because they claim it wasn't preggo related. But if a girl is having abdominal pains while preggo, then anything is gonna be related. We'll see.

Hey Dirty, I know what you can do. I have had many emergency room visits for my kidney stones and the bill is usually about $800...AFTER the insurance covers their portion. It's ridiculous. They have to charge that much because there are so many people out there who don't have insurance and won't ever pay their bills, so those of us who do have to pay through the ass to cover everyone else's medical care who can't afford it (and doctors are greedy). Here's what you can do: Call the hospital billing department and tell them you make X amount of dollars a year, you have a new baby in the house, and mom isn't working right now. Tell them you can't afford to pay this bill and you need assistance. They will send you paperwork and you send it back with your most recent W2's and they will determine if you qualify. Sometimes it takes a long time and you'll keep receiving bills while they are processing it, and sometimes it will go as far as collections before anything gets done about it.
