Christmas is very, very difficult for many of us, myself included. Each year, all I wish for is that it passes with as little hurt as needs be in my life. I'm praying for Brian's safe return everyday. *hugs*
This time of the year has never been a good one for me either. Heck, I don't even have a tree. Please don't blame yourself -- I think Brian is more important than a holiday!
When I got to the paragraphs about Brian and this awful war, and your fear for his safety, and your missing him, I couldn't help but cry with you. I'm so sorry Donna. It is indeed a tragedy that our troops have to be taken from their families and put in harm's way for such a long and exhausting time. Until you have been there, or you love someone who has been there, it's hard to grasp just how exhausted and on edge our brave warriors are. I wish they were all home with their families, being nurtured and held close.
Thank you Susan, I know you understand how I feel. There are times that things get so bad there, some military people will do things they may not normally do.

Awww, I'm sorry this time of year doesn't brink joy for you either. My tree is artificial and very small. I just put it up today.
Thank you for understanding how I feel. Of course the holiday IS important to me, it just isn't the same without Brian here.

Your wish will hopefully happen next month as Brian returns for approximately 18 days. I can hardly wait. :)

Advance warning, I'll be a basket case when it is time to leave here and return to Afghanistan. :(
