For an account of everyday life of medieval barons and peasants, do you have an recommendation? I've enjoyed Ian Mortimer's "Time Traveller's Guide," as well as Joseph and Frances Gies' series on castles/economy/women/etc., and am always on the lookout for other good reads. :)
Henriette Leyser's 'Medieval Women' is very good. And Thomas B. Costain's books are good too, although very dated now and ridiculously imaginative and romantic - not exactly academic but very evocative.
