I don't know how far along you are in the whole process, but my sister became a wedding-planning-manaic and found a bunch of ways to save money on everything from flowers to centerpieces to favors. If you'd like, I'm sure she would be happy to chat with you.
Oh, and isn't it frustrating when places don't take credit/debit cards? I mean, who carries cash in this day and age?
I agree! I usually carry some cash but it goes so fast. :)
Unfortunately most of the arrangements are already made, but thank you for the offer! I should have scouted out prior brides, because as A. & I keep saying, it's really too bad you only do this once, because you learn so much about how you would do it next time! Major learning point? Either go with a location that provides food to save the catering headaches, or make sure they have a caterer-friendly kitchen. Otherwise they have to truck stuff in from the outside and that's where the cost starts adding up. : P But if you know anyone who has how to do Boston on the cheap ideas that would be great, as that's where our honeymoon will be & I am in the midst of planning for that!
businesses that don't accept credit cards should shampoo my crotch.
sorry, i just thought of that, i think the crotch part is from As Good As it Gets, one of my favorite movies with a lead character who is supposed to have OCD.
I kind of love it. And I'll let them know. Next time someone looks disdainfully at my proffered card and says "Cash only" I will inform them that they can shampoo your crotch. Should be a good time for all.
