Sydney's Shitty Rail....er...City Rail has never been a particularly pleasant experience. Scheduled trains were always being cancelled or arrived late/early. when did you live in Sydney?

My worst transit experience was on my last day in London this year... But I had friends, wet from a rained-out concert, get stuck in a tunnel for hours after a city rail train hit a homeless man.

I was in Sydney until last year. That incident along the North Shore line happened in 2003 I believe. Being stuck on a train is quite a terrible experience, mitigated only by good company and a good supply of food/drinks. I can't imagine being stuck somewhere for hours in wet clothes. That would be quite horrible and uncomfortable.
