OMG what the fuck is wrong with Google? I think my computer has a virus, and I can't update my Virus Protection even though it says it's out of date. I try to update, and it can't connect to their server or something. I go to Google to go to the Virus Protection's website and it takes me to some other dubious source. Then I typed in Neopets and

D'you have access to another computer as well? Because I'd back up all your current data, disconnect ythis/your computer from the internet, and if you have another computer, download the update files for the anti-virus on that one, save it to a disk, then use that disk on your computer (assuming that, if you have a virus, it isn't one that is making the cdrom drive go heywire).

But the dubious sources is definitely a pretty good sign of a virus. I'd check for trojans and spybots as well.

Yeah I went searching around on my desktop for the errors I was getting, but there wasn't anything like a quick fix except reinstalling Windows, and I didn't want to do that. Today we took it to a local computer repair place, and it sounds like it's something they've dealt with before, so hopefully it'll be fixed soon. Said they had a 4-5 day turnaround...

*already misses it* ;____; Thanks for your input! I did think of doing that, but I didn't exactly understand what they wanted me to do after I got the file, and I didn't want to mess it up any further. Oh well, hopefully it will be right as rain in the next few days.

Leaving it to the pros isn't a bad idea--because they should know what they're doing. Less risk of doing something wrong accidentally. *looks guiltily over at Linux Data*
