You...
Name: Lisa
Nickname(s): Lulu (only my parents, relatives, parents' friends, etc., call me that)
Age: 19
Location: Seattle
Three positive adjectives that describe who you are: intelligent, sarcastic, imaginative
Three negative adjectives that describe who you are: arrogant, cold, unsociable
Pick a line from a song that you think describes you: This is a verse, not a line, I hope that's okay:
"She had one thing that she liked and she kept around
She would take it with her to the riverbed
As she skated, she always she thought of a pretty sound
That she heard as a girl in her mother's bed
The sound of some breathing, another breath, in and out
When some lungs expand and contract like they do
And she looked at herself in the ice of the riverbed
And she saw a girl, one which she could see through"
- Rasputina, "Rusty the Skatemaker"
Favourite quote I have a lot, but here's one: "The only thing that sustains one through life is the consciousness of the immense inferiority of everybody else, and this is a feeling I have always cultivated." - Oscar Wilde
Hobbies/Interests: reading, writing, art, music, movies, concertgoing, the Internet (I guess that's a "hobby/interest" of everyone's), fashion, etc.
Likes: the stuff above, cats, things of the past, chocolate, creativity, people, life
Dislikes: stupidity, small-mindednes, pop culture, the sound of the vacuum cleaner, people, life
Either Or...
Bravery or Revenge: Bravery. Revenge is petty and I don't believe in it.
Social or Anti-social: Um, I prefer "unsociable." "Antisocial" makes me sound like a psychopath or like I hate all society or something.
Brilliance or Imagination: brilliance (I think imagination is really important and part of brilliance, too.)
Street smart or Book smart: book-smart
Pessimist or Optimist pessimist
Night or Day day
Leader or Follower I guess follower, but not mentally. I'm not that much influenced by the outside, I'm an independent thinker, and not that I don't care what people think about me, but I've never really accommodated myself to their ways for the sake of conformity.
Laid-Back or Tense Depends. I think I'm both.
Realist or Dreamer dreamer (I mean, I'm realistic, too, but I'm probably a dreamer at heart or have a kind of idealism or something.)
Favourites:
Movies The Science of Sleep, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Eraserhead, Through a Glass Darkly, Solaris (the original), Wings of Desire. A whole bunch. My favorite movies with Johnny are POTC 1, Sleepy Hollow, From Hell, and Edward Scissorhands.
Books As I Lay Dying, The Great Gatsby, 1984, Heart of Darkness, The Bluest Eye, Coraline
Music Rasputina, The Dresden Dolls
Artist (optional) I like a lot of surreal artists. One is Joel-Peter Witkin.
Color blue
Would you attempt the impossible, even if you were told it couldn't be done? Depends on what it is. And if I believed it could be done. But - no. I'm not super-ambitious as in wanting to become a famous rocket scientist or produce the next great sociological theory or something; I just want to live out my ideals, sort of.
Would you do what you thought was right, even without the help or support of others? Depends on what it is/what negative consequences there might be.
Are you dependable? Kind of.
Who or What would you lay in front of a tank for? Honestly, I don't think anything.
The Movies and Characters-
Favorite Johnny character and why?: Jack Sparrow, for obvious reasons.
Which character do you relate to most and why?: I think Mort Rainey in Secret Window. I'm not sure why. He's kind of nonchalant and cynical, but he's deeply troubled about stuff and cares a lot.
Favorite scene from with a Johnny character in it? Oh, I don't know. There are too many. One of them is definitely the scene in Cry-Baby where they're making out, though - so hilarious.
Favorite quotes by Johnny characters (no more then three): "So we're all men of our word, really... Except for Elizabeth, who is, in fact, a woman." - Jack Sparrow
In The Ninth Gate, when that woman yells, "Don't fuck with me!", and he says, "I thought I already did."
"Or is there some wall of wretchedness that we all batter with our heads at that shining, livelong moment?" - John Wilmot
Favorite Johnny Character movie, and why?: If I had to choose one, Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl. It's funny, has great visuals, good ideas, it's warmhearted, just well-done.
