So Molly, that lovely dog we picked up recently, went to the vet. She has a yeast ear infection, a skin yeast infection, and heartworm

I am broke like a joke right now, but come August I should have some money again, If yall need it by then I will be more than happy to send yall some, not a lot, but some lol.
$1200?? Wow... when I picked up a stray a while ago, I took her to a vet here in SA and they gave her a shot for her mange that also killed her heart worms. It was only about a $200 bill. Maybe try calling around to different vets and finding an alternative? Until then I'll definitely stop by my bank and put some money in my paypal account for you guys.
We're looking around. The high estimate is $1050 and the low is $1017 (editing the post to reflect that much). :\ That's why we're going to poke around a little more and see how much the Animal Trustees charge.
I tossed a bit your way. I think that the treatment methods for heartworms depend on how severe they've become, and the size of the dog. And where you're getting the treatment, obviously. Private vets will always make you pay out the ass, so hopefully you can find some other place to do it.
Yeah, ours is a private vet, so he charges more, but he's been our vet since we moved here. They're the ones that pointed us to Animal Trustees, too, so they know what they do is expensive. :\ Thanks so much. <3
I futzed around the internet to see what the average cost of this sort of thing is, and saw a few people on a random forum mention Emancipet. I don't know if they actually do heartworm treatment or just prevention since it wasn't terribly clear - from the look of their site it doesn't seem like they'd be helpful in this case but it might be worth looking into if things don't work out with AT.
That could also really depend on how much the parasite has spread, since some get so nasty that they require surgery as well as injections to flush them out and some can just be flushed out with injections and restricted activity.

Yeah, it doesn't seem TOO bad (she's not coughing, just lethargic) right now, but it obviously needs to be taken care of ASAP.
