Murphy's Law

Thanks to that great man Murphy and his laws, this is all I need to say about D&D 4th Edition:

"Build a system that even a fool can use and only a fool will want to use it."

It's just my opinion, but WotC is corporate, bleeds green, and cares more about making a buck than satisfying its customer base. I know this has happened before with earlier editions, but their actions seem disingenous. Saying, "Hey, buy all of our brand-new 3.5 sourcebooks!" and then 3 weeks later saying "Hey, throw out those obsolete 3.5 sourcebooks because you gotta buy the latest thing!" But that's business. They also seem to be biting back criticism of Paizo for continuing to run with 3.5. Lastly, they still seem utterly dumbfounded that half of their fanbase is NOT thrilled about 4E. 2nd edition had a run of what, about 11 years? Now they want to change the system yet again, to make it simpler for the average person to understand, so they can appeal to a wider audience. If you ask me, dumbing down your product to appeal to more people isn't going to make you popular with those who liked it complicated. Even if we do make fun of its quirks.
