Congratulations! Can you see through walls now too? Did you opt for the optional heat vision?

While I keep considering LASIK, one of my biggest concerns is whether I'd actually be able to keep from freaking out during the procedure. From my discussions with my eye doctor, I'd still probably need computer/reading glasses if I got the procedure. Still, it'd be nice to be able to do without glasses at all much of the time.

I was worried about that, too, but they didn't seem too concerned. They gave me Adavan going into it, but I don't think it did much for me. The numbing agent they put on makes it hard to realize just what is going on. The only involuntary reaction I had was the single muscle spasming, like I mentioned, and the only part of the whole ordeal that squicked me a bit was when they wiped a little squeegee kind of thing across the eyes to settle everything else back into place.

Eyeball squeegeee. (o_o) That notion is utterly sensible and still kinda creepy. :)
