So last week marked 5 months since I tore my ACL and had knee surgery...
It's been a long slog of physical therapy 2-3 days a week all summer, but I'm finally getting back into shape. I hit my first major end goal this past Monday. I was able to run for 5 min on the treadmill, getting up to 7 mph by the end of the run. This was the first time I've been able to run since surgery. I'm finally starting to feel like I'm almost back to normal. I think another month or two and I'll be back to running 5k regularly.
For anyone considering it, I don't recommend tearing your ACL. Definitely not as fun as it sounds. :) Although, if you are going to give it a try,
Dr. Warren King is the person to have put you back together. I've got to say that I wouldn't be where I'm at without him.
