Pre-1224: A lot of charity work, but moved around a lot. He went to nations who asked for help, settled there and protected their borders from wild tribes. But still held strong allegiance to the Pope.

1224: Prussian Crusades lead by the Teutonic Knights against the tribes of Old Prussians in the Baltic Region, originally from a request of Polish princes to Christianize the pagans there. This followed the Golden Bull of Rimini which gave Prussia to the Teutonic Knights - according to the Holy Roman Empire.

The Monastic State of the Teutonic Knights (Ordensstaat) is formed (headcanon: Prussia was born as a nation.)

1352: The Black Plague took a lot of his people;thirteen thousand in Dantzic, four thousand in Thorn, six thousand at Elbing, and eight thousand at Koenigsberg.

1410: The Teutonic Order is defeated in the Battle of Grunwald against the Polish forces, along with Russians, Lithuanians, and Tartars . Many knights and the grand master at the time is killed and the Order declines beyond this point.

1519: Polish-Teutonic wars, because Albert de Brandenberg, the grand master at the time, refused to pay homage to the King of Poland.

1521: Holy Roman Empire steps in to stop their squabblings, since Hungary got invaded by the Ottoman Empire.

1525: Ordensstaat becomes the Duchy of Prussia, adopts the Lutheran faith as the first Protestant state and becomes a Polish fief in the Prussian Homage.

August 27, 1618: Thirty Years' War started. Duchy of Prussia becomes Brandenburg-Prussia through intermarriage. (headcanon: It's the only marriage for Prussia. Brandenburg and his relationship with Prussia is based on this pixiv artists' design.).

1648: Brandenburg-Prussia expands with Peace of Westphalia and the conclusion of the Thirty Years' war. France gave him a lot of land, which is awesome, but France just wanted to weaken the House of Habsburgs (Austria/Spain).

Brandenburg suffered a lot in the Thirty Years War, about 50% of its population was dead. Even the lands they got from it was pretty much a waste land. Prussia was least hit by the war.

1656: Treaty of Koinseberg in the Second Northern War, Prussia withdrew ties with Lithuania and Poland and acknowledged vassal status with Sweden.

1675- 1679: Scanian war - war between Brandenburg and Sweden, which was indirectly France versus Brandenburg-Prussia, with Sweden and Holland in between. Poland-Lithuania dicks around too. In all, this just made Brandenburg-Prussia even poorer.

1701: With the signing of treaties while under the leadership of Frederick William, the Duchy of Prussia becomes the Kingdom in Prussia (headcanon: Prussia truly becomes a battle-loving jerk, and kicks his own spouse out of their own seat. He can't really look at Brandenburg without feeling guilty. ever.)

1708: The Plague sweeps through Prussia. The affliction ends somewhere in 1710 but takes a toll on the overall population.

1740: Frederick II, “Old Fritz”, becomes King in Prussia. A lifelong crush? worship? bromance is formed.

1740-1748: The Silesian Wars begin, one of the more famous ones being the War of the Austrian Succession.

1756-1762: The Anglo-Prussian Alliance is formed between Prussia and Great Britain.

1756-1762: The Seven Years’ War is fought. Prussia more or less took on the entire world and it ended in a draw. (Prussia likes to think of it as the first World War, and congratulates himself on causing trouble across three whole continents)

1760-1762: A weakened Prussia is invaded by the Russian Empire. The Empress of Russia passed away, and Peter III called out the Russian Army, though it took a grave toll on the Prussian Army and its leadership.

1772-1795: Expansion is made further of Prussia, and it regains much of its lost territories in Poland. Prussia, like, totally owned Warsaw there for a bit. <3

1785: Old Fritz signs a treaty with the United States of America, acknowledging its independence.

August 17th, 1786: Frederick II, King of Prussia, passes away in isolation at his home at Sanssouci.

1801-1815: Napoleonic Wars. Prussia plays both sides of the fence; at first working with Napoleon and his forces in order to stage hostilities against Great Britain’s lands. 1806, with the final dissolution of the Holy Roman Empire, it became the Kingdom of Prussia. Boredom or sudden confidence led Prussia to switch sides against France. This worked against the nation, because Napoleon ended up soundly defeating Prussia. Much of its territory was taken away that it had amassed and the French lingered until Prussia finally allied with Napoleon again. As soon as Napoleon was defeated, Prussia took the opportunity to get revenge and played a crucial role in the Battle of Waterloo in 1815 to put an end to Napoleon’s meddling for good. Prussia got all of its territories restored, plus even more for the part that it had played in the victory against Napoleon’s Army.

1848-1871: The German Wars, or the Wars of German Unification. With its new power, Prussia still had to deal with the squabbling of Austria and the other German states that wanted to see some single entity formed. Prussia, naturally, resisted due to a fear of losing independence. In 1848, Denmark invaded some of Prussia’s territory, and despite being defeated, Prussia was still forced to allow the other nation to keep them. Unhappy with this result and wanting to assert its place as a ruling nation, Prussia coaxed Austria into assisting in a second war against Denmark in 1864 just so that it could be rubbed in the Dane’s face.

Austria, being pissy, decided to continue sniping about territorial disputes. So Prussia declared war on the Austrian Empire and defeated it in order to shut the other nation up. After victory in the Austro-Prussian War, Prussia swallowed up a majority of the German states. This trend continued up until 1871, when the German states became unified under a single Germany under Prussian rule.

1871: Prussia has a new toy to play with in the form of one blue-eyed German nation. And like any good older brother figure, starts to leave the majority of the internal and political conflicts to the more serious Germany so that he can focus on doing things that are less boring to him.

1914-1918: Prussia learns his lesson about leaving everything in the hands of your younger brother while you slack off. Thanks to the loss of the German Empire in WW1, the Treaty of Versailles causes the Kingdom of Prussia to be dissolved and it becomes the Free State of Prussia.

1918-1932: Prussian government becomes a heavy democratic nation, setting up many reforms in the systems that are later used as models by Germany. It enjoys a time of success. During this time, the Nazi Party begins to win over the lower class and working class nationals of Prussia, earning support for Adolf Hitler and the Reich.

1932: Preußenschlag - the coup to overthrow the democratic Prussian government is staged on July 20th. The Reich succeeds in taking control of Prussia, as it forces its own government leader into power. (headcanon: at this point, his brother really royally pissed him off. They worked separately and didn't communicate outside of work much.)

February 5th, 1947: The Allied Control Council formally proclaims the dissolvement of the nation of Prussia.

1949: While the Western powers (America, Britain, and France) occupied his little brother's lands, Russia took over his and called him by a new name, the German Democratic Republic (GDR). Of course, it was anything but democratic and soon a full communist regime was imposed. The Russians stripped East Germany of its resources and blocked all land routes to West Berlin. (headcanon: Things were kind of better between the German brothers, but not that much. This just ignited the fire again and Prussia started a series of verbal battles with his own brother on legitimacy, "Germanness", etc.)

1953: Waves of strikes in East Germany because they wanted a better fucking life. The Russians responded by sending in tanks and killing many civilians. East started losing his people.

1961: The Berlin Wall. Anyone who tried to leave was shot. East lost more of his people.

August 1989: Hungary removed its border restrictions and unsealed its border. More than 13,000 people left East Germany by crossing the "green" border via Czechoslovakia into Hungary and then on to Austria and West Germany. East lost even more of his people but he was okay with this.

November 9th, 1989: A non-violent revolution overthrew the Communists and the Berlin Wall was opened. More people fled to West.

October 3rd, 1990: Following the collapse of communism, East and West was reunited. Germany then faced the task of raising living standards of their people as a complete. Things got better between the brothers and he lives to be always there to support his little brother, by still trolls like him as a past time. (headcanon: He's a retired nation, a ghost basically. He could die or disappear one day, and he doesn't heal as fast as the other nations. He has taken on sharing responsibilities with Germany and reports to his little brother on the happenings of the eastern side. It's temporary, he does it just because he has nothing better to do and Germany looks stressed enough keeping up with stuff in the west. The world doesn't quite know what he's doing here still.)
