Pic Spam of the horses

These are our soon-to-be horses.  Right now they are still owned by the BO (Barn Owner) as school horses.  This is me riding Red.  Our riding teacher had car trouble so nobody was there to correct my "chair seat" today.  I am trotting, here.  Click for bigger.

Is that lady you? You look very nice. I wish I knew your name. Your horses are very beautiful. I grew up in horse country in the middle of New Jersey. My uncle was Jackie O's groom. For awhile I lived diagonally across from her but only got to meet her once.

If you subscribe to Equestrian magazine you have probably read my best friend Susan Walz's article there a few month's back.

I draw horses. They were my first subject matter actually because Sue and I used to go horse back riding together on the trails out where we lived. I was born in the year of the horse.

Well anyway it was good to talk with you.

Hey, you'll approciate this. To get the money to buy Red, I had to do divorce work (I HATE!!!) for the biggest prick you've ever met who, unbelievably, has 18 years in the program - he is so not the poster child for AA. But I hug my Red and smile. E's mawmaw is buying Cim. Oh, and I'm her bitch, now, too.

Hey this looks great! You're so lucky to get them!!! Cim is 20? I had no idea that horses have such a long lifetime. What is the average lifetime of a horse? I'm asking you because I have no idea at all, here we don't see horses that often except in police parades and race courses. That is also very rare.

Thanks for your compliments. With modern veterinary care and all the available vitamin and mineral supplements, horses are living well into their 30's these days. As long as they are healthy and not in any kind of pain from lameness they can live to be in their 40s. Of course, if they are not healthy and are in distress you have to have the veterinarian put them to sleep. Red and Cim, 17 and 20 are in really good shape, having been well cared for by their previous owner.
