Okay, first off, I love how last ep Schinezer was like "Oh, I'll be emperor now" and we all thought 'don't you have 87 more siblings to run that by? And Pop?' but apparently you can just decree it in Britannia and that's totally acceptable political protocol.
Let me break this episode down from the beginning; Lelouch, who is looking fine as hell in his cravat, is stuck in the eternal library of gibberish with his dad. Suzaku still thinks it's appropriate to fight with swords (this Japan had no Meiji Restoration? thesis in progress) and is dicking around the ruins with pink haired girl. CC is there too, and remarks that she and Suzaku are a lot alike. Not only in them being the two people whose dick Lelouch wants to suck, but also in that they want to die but are unable to. Sad. Suzaku is immortal? thesis in progress.
Meanwhile pink haired girl goes into the spirit world and is actually Marianne- ie, Lelouch and Nunally's mom- who never actually died but was just pretending all this time. Lelouch is about as pissed as the viewers are, especially when she admits to planting Nunally as a witness and giving her daughter those fucked up injuries for funsies. Or was that to protect her.... Neither Emperor or Mom seem to care too much and go on and on about creating a world where nobody lies.
- Pros of a World Where Nobody Lies: Truthiness, can talk to the dead, no one would have ever told me Code Geass was worth watching.
Cons of a World Where Nobody Lies: Pretty much nothing.
Next we cut to a month later where Lelouch appears in front of all his unimportant siblings and Geass them into accepting him as the new emperor. This is all in light of him admitting killing Pop Pop Brittania on live tv. Most teenage girls ignore this all for the moe factor of Suzaku defending Lelouch as his knight. OH DID I SAY SUZAKU? I MEANT SPINZAKU. Rivalz watches from the Student Council and thinks UH YOU'RE A PRINCE LULU?? A PRINCE COULD HAVE GOT US SUPER SWEET PROPS FOR THE CAT PARTY.
And all the while Cornelia and Schinezer are trying to figure out why they weren't invited to this meeting, while making chess metaphors for the impending power struggle.
I'm sorry? Did I miss something? Maybe the part where this wasn't completely ridiculous. Is this part of some great plan, because I feel like someone just got tired of drawing the emperor's powdered wig and beard and were like OKAY DEUX EX MACHINA.........HE CAN GEASS THE GODS. CAUSE BOTH HIS EYES ARE RED. so are mine okay, from crying in frustration.
If they make Tamaki go mad with grief like Nina did, I will flip out. "ZERO IS MY BEST BUDDY!!!!" I love this series' Tamaki so fucking hard okay. pussy party at tamaki's house.
In conclusion, this show is the biggest waste of my time since tactics. Luckily I had a bottle of champagne (for my date with Zero!!) Do you want to fight about it because I hate everything.
